This booklet comprises five essays on the subject of the act of writing from a war zone. Commissioned by the British Council it features one piece each by prolific conteporary British writers spanning the genres of fiction, poetry, reportage, memoir and blogging.
We chose a format that is reminiscent of an improvised object consisting of a few sheets trimmed individually. We deliberately avoided a war theme and colour scheme on the cover and opted for a bright design with an illustration focusing on writing tools.
