Objectif is a collaborative design practice and publisher founded by Axel Feldmann and Luisa Hay in London in 2004. Marco Ugolini joined in 2014 as associate. After many years running our studio in London, in summer 2024 we have relocated to Munich and Bristol, from where we continue our collaboration.

We work on the visualisation and publication of content from the fields of culture and fine art, architecture, education, sciences and critical theory. We design books and exhibitions, as well as working on strategic and transdisciplinary design projects. Our clients are authors, artists, architects, as well as museums, galleries and other cultural or community organisations.

Our work aims to assist individuals and organisations who are culturally, artistically or socially engaged to publish their work in a clear, playful way and to a high quality standard. We have a particular interest in participatory design practices, and have been experimenting with various forms of co-design approaches.

Since 2024 we publish carefully selected books under the label Objectif Edition. To our long-term experience in editorial design and print production of books we have added an international distribution network. We are happy to hear from talented individuals who are seeking to publish their work.

Axel has given numerous guest lectures and design workshops both in the UK and in his native Germany. Marco is a senior lecturer at the BA Graphic Design programme at University of the West of England in Bristol, as well as a member of ISTD.

From 2013 to 2022 Objectif has been part of the Greater London Authority’s Design Framework, and a member of its Specialist Advice Team in relation to graphic design within the public realm.
