Sophie Handler, RIBA
2007
The Fluid Pavement is the result of over one hundred conversations of the author with pensioners living in Newham, East London, at the edge of the site for the 2012 London Olympic Games. It combines a day-to-day narrative of ‘growing old in Newham’ with ten architectural propositions by Sophie Handler, translating the old age population’s desires into small workable projects.
The book is typeset in large print, interspersed with double page spread photography. Both this book and a small print annotated version is available at the RIBA Bookshop in London.
