objectif were commissioned to design the park signage for Fairlop Waters by a consortium consisting of Redbridge Council, Design for London, and the landscape architects J+L Gibbons. We decided to experiment with oak as a base material to carry all interpretation. Instead of in situ photographs the wildlife has been hand drawn and then routed into the timber. The graphics are thus subject to wheather, and will soon blend in with the natural scenery of the park.
Just the map boards have been realised as enamel boards to ensure longevity.
